Chapter Meeting

The Columbia Basin Chapter of ARMA is pleased to invite you to join us for an educational program on Thursday, November 16, 2017. This program will be an afternoon presentation, so please feel free to bring your own lunch as we will not be providing lunch for this session. However, the program is free. 

Featured Speaker

Our featured speaker for this event is Brandi Holt with Columbia Industries/CI Information Management. Brandi has been in the Information Management business for more than eight years as an Account Executive & Information Management Specialist. Several years ago, she started working with CI Shred. CI then expanded and moved into the Records Storage and Digital Imaging Services. She also works and consults for all of their business lines.

Program Topic

Brandi will be talking about how HIPPA and the importance of maintaining a strategic comprehensive records management program work directly hand-in-hand in the workplace. Properly filing reports and maintaining records and then regularly disposing of files at the end of the required retention periods can play a strategic role in ensuring the security and privacy of employee-related records, while reducing the risk of government fines and litigation exposure. This session will cover the related federal laws for which most businesses have responsibility, as well as retention and disposal requirements to help organizations maintain their compliance. It is critical that businesses have in place good practices for creating and maintaining required records.

Please note that you do not have to be a member of ARMA or the Columbia Basin Chapter of ARMA to attend this meeting. Guests and visitors are always welcome!
